The Process
We began by looking at things that were popular a few years ago as well as upcoming films before we landed on centralizing on Dune, because there were so many celestial phenomenon’s happening at the time (the eclipse and meteor showers) it was a very appealing topic for many. Trends have also forecasted that chrome will rise in popularity again and the desire for escapism will become heavily present and we expect that to only increase with the use of social media.
We began brainstorming potential phenomena occurring at the time and looking toward the next two years. Some trends we noticed were celestial events and the desire to find more escapism.
The Outcome
We were able to create a spring 2026 forecast that predicts that space escapism will be likely to rocket into popularity within that timeframe as more space-focused events will be occurring as well as Dune 3 coming out which has a strong tie to space and escapism.
